The project
Starting from the conclusions of “Rediscovering Europe by feeling European citizens again”, co-financed by the Europe for Citizens Programme, "NEXT - Young NEETs shaping EXpectations for The future of Europe" aims at creating a well-structured and shared path of dialogue and discussion among young people and between them and the local authorities.

The goal is to understand together which tools and opportunities at local and EU level can stimulate their growth as humans, students and employed people opening. European values and democratic principles will be at the basis of the path which will promote the deepening of some important and current issues.

Specific objectives:
• create a safe place for youngsters to open up and share their worries and ideas about their future;
• stimulate discussions and, as a consequence, knowledge of important and contemporary themes;
• promote a creative approach in each transnational workshop, evaluating how people can create new jobs or find inspirations for learning/training paths, starting from these themes;
• improve the capacities of municipalities and associations in dealing with young people expectations and needs;
• moving youngsters’ and NEET’s interest towards the know-how connected to their cultural heritage;
• analyse the situation on gender equality and, more in general, on equal opportunities from a youth perspective.
NEXT involves 8 partners from 8 EU countries and foresees 9 transnational events (2 online and 7 in situ), combined with activities and workshops at local level.

We expect to involve a total of 1555 direct participants at transnational level and around 3700 indirect participants:
• 35 international participants per event (referents and young people)
• 130 local participants per event (mostly young people and students, politicians, teachers, representatives of youth associations)
• further 60 teachers and students per partner and per topic, who will be involved during the local activities
